What is your favorite Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe?

Oh the pure joy of biting into a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie accompanied by a hot cup of tea.

Yesterday I baked a batch of chocolate chip cookies, using Nestle toll house chocolate chips and the cookie recipe that is on the package, which is still one of my favorite cookie recipes. There is nothing quite like the smell of fresh baked cookies that make the mouth water and reminds me of when I use to bake cookies with my mother.

I was heading out to Poplar Ridge Organic farm to help out in the fields and hand out the farm shares to all the members that drop by the farm to pick up their produce. Yesterday was my last day to volunteer at the farm and I wanted to bring the farmers a little treat, participating in the work share program has been such a great experience, everyone who works and volunteers there are such a delight to be around.

So with fresh baked cookies in hand I headed out one last time this year and ok I do admit that I did indulge and enjoyed several of the cookies with a cup of piping hot tea, also leaving a tray for my husband to enjoy. The farmers loved the cookies, of course that goes without saying all that butter, sugar and yummy chocolate chips, this is not the time of year to scrimp on the butter!

My bounty this week consisted of carrots, broccoli, spinach, encore lettuce mix, mustard field mix, radishes, bok choy and Joe the head farmer invited me back to work with them any time. I headed home with joy in my heart, a car full of fresh organic produce and a promise to come back in January to catch up with the farmers and help in the fields. Oh the joy of the work share program.

Have you participated in a work share program at a local farm? If so I would love to hear about your experiences and if you have not participated surf the web and look for a local farm where you can get involved.

Although the soil is beginning its winter slumber there is still so much work to be done at the farms, spring will be here before we know it.

Cheers!

  1. I seem to really enjoy chocolate chip cookies as long as they are fresh out of the oven, and then I smear a glob of creamy peanut butter. Now that is heaven on a silver platter!
