2 thick slices of
turkey – Enough to cover a slice of bread
I like to use left over chicken or turkey breast meat for this sandwich

•
Mayonnaise or Pesto
- My favorite is Mayo with Olive oil
•
Sour dough bread, whole wheat bread or your
favorite bread
•
2 Roasted red peppers, Fresh roasted on the grill
is great, but I like to keep a jar on hand specially in the winter months
Slice each open and remove the seeds so the pepper
will lay flat on the sandwich
•
Cheddar Cheese,
thinly sliced ( less is better with this sandwich)
If you are using a large cube of fresh cheese
slice several pieces to fit the bread. I
find that cheddar cheese really compliments the turkey and roasted red peppers
•
Butter about a 1/2 teaspoon
•
Spread a thin layer of mayonnaise on one side of
each slice of bread, layer ½ the cheese,
turkey, red peppers and the other remaining slices of cheese on the bread and
place the second slice on top to create a sandwich
I found that by placing the cheese on both slices of bread with the Turkey and peppers in between results in a better sandwich
•
Melt butter in the griddle over medium heat~
Watch closely so the butter doesn’t burn
•
Place the sandwich on the griddle and cook for
approximately 3 to 4 minutes on one side until lightly brown
Using a spatula, lift the sandwich and carefully flip to cook
the other side
•
The second side usually cooks faster so be careful
and watch closely
Everyone has a preference on what properly “grilled”
is. The bread should be brown per your taste
Slice and enjoy a delicious sandwich. Great with soup, salad, fresh fruit, sliced carrots, celery or slices of cucumber. What's your favorite grilled cheese sandwich?
Just Cook Something. Cheers! Kary~
